Calabasas (Spanish for "Pumpkins") is a city in Los Angeles County located in the hills west of the San Fernando Valley and in the northwest Santa Monica Mountains between Woodland Hills and Agoura Hills with a population of about 23,058.
The Leonis Adobe, an adobe structure in Old Town Calabasas, dates from 1844 and is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the greater Los Angeles area. This old town area of Calabasas is a very quaint area with restaurants and shops and home to the Motion Picture & TV Hospital. The Commons is the largest shopping center offering many shops and restaurants.
Calabasas is home to many gated communities offering luxurious homes which attracts many celebrities seeking this lifestyle.
