Oxnard is located along the coast and is the 19th most populous city in California sitting about 30 miles west of the Los Angeles city limits. The population of Oxnard is 203,585
Well known for the fertile Oxnard Plain, it was incorporated in 1903 and is an agricultural center of strawberries and lima beans. Oxnard is also a major transportation hub in Southern California, with Amtrak, Union Pacific, Metrolink, Greyhound, and Intercalifornia stopping in Oxnard and has a small regional airport called Oxnard Airport (OXR).
The main attraction is the beaches, and it has become a popular spot for vacation homes in areas like Oxnard Shores and the Harbor. It is also home to Oxnard Junior College, a 2-year public community college offering degrees in 26 fields.
